Welcome to our website for the Zomi Association USA. The Zomi communities of Oregon and Washington are working with Zomi across the country to establish our organization beginning in 2009. We hope you will support us and help us connect with Zomi immigrants and refugees throughout America.
Zomi have been coming to America primarily in the last 5 years from Burma due to religious and racial persecution. Many have come from refugee camps in Thailand, Malaysia and India, and are seeking a new life here in America. We are working to better support ourselves with community development, and building a network of support among organizations, churches, and civic institutions.
